Kindly send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will forward an advance copy of the book. It will be available July 4.
There is no sensationalism, drama or false claims. It's based on my interviews and photos.
The Real Daft Punk embodies the dynamic practices and principles that launched Daft Punk to superstardom presenting the essence and gift of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. A profound reflection of the tidal ebbs and flows of Dance Music intersected with divergent thinking. This book is honest behind the music tales of an exceptional brotherhood and the catalytic sea change fashioned by its comeuppance. Over two exclusive interviews captured in the age of Homework and the gestation period leading up to and including the release of Discovery, The Real Daft Punk provides vital insight into how the duo achieved unparalleled success without compromising artistic integrity or musical vision.
The Real Daft Punk is much more than the narrative of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo exploding across international markets and opening up the Art Form to legions of new listeners. It is a story that, like its subjects, dismantles archaic unwritten rules of music industry conduct while providing the ideation necessary to lead a successful career as a confident creative with a rich legacy.
I was thinking to propose you to make some sort of plan to vastly improve the wiki, not only in information but also in formatting and editing guidelines, and also try new ways to create articles and invite people to edit them.
Sounds like a a good idea, having an overhaul would be good right about now. I've started an initiative on the Daft Punk Subreddit to get some editors onboard, hopefully we should see a rise in activity. Please, tell me more about this plan you have in mind.
I saw the post and I'm really happy with the fact that they even stickied the post to the top. Nice idea ! :)
The plan I had in mind is pretty much focused on the Wiki’s general formatting guidelines, like the structure of an article and what it should always include. This includes:
Articles should always have a "references" section to prove the information credibility. (in case there isn't something to base the info on, use Template:Citation needed
Singles, artists, films, songs, albums, and bands should have an infobox if the information required to make the template is enough to fill it.
If the article is a copy-paste of a Wikipedia article, use Template:Wikipedia at the end of the "References" section.
On additions, I think is a good idea to create a direct link into the Main Page to a the Special:Wantedpages so people can have a better idea of what do we reaaaaally need to have in the Wiki.
So, whatcha' think? If you also have something in mind I would be glad to hear about it ! :)
Thank you for adopting the Wikia, I did so back when Random Access Memories was released and made a huge revamp with the help of Remiaw.
I receive edit changes to my email from now and then, and decieded to take a look and well, you can by to take over the wiki! I hope you can keep the wiki community active by bringing people from the subreddit (I was the one who requested to put the link in the subreddit hehe).
Again, thank you so much for helping, if you need anything, let me know!
PS: I might give a little change to the Main Page, the source was designed so no vandalism can be done, if you need help with that, please let me know too!
Cheers bud, I saw that no one had edited for a while, so I went ahead for it and thought of it as a new challenge for myself. Also, I messaged the Subreddit mods yesterday, and they were alright with everything, I already have a user or two planning to come on soon.
Anyway, the front page has been a repeated issue with me and the only current active editor on the wiki. He found the actual version of the Get Lucky performance at the GRAMMYs and replaced the old on. I've fixed up a few pages that needed some tweaking and added a support hub. The other issue on the main page is that I have been looking to re-start the poll and edit it, but as you mentioned the main page's internal script is designed to block editing of it. I was wondering if you could assist with that?
Also, are you looking to become active/semi-active again so we can rebuild the wiki and gain some more editors? Or are you just here for now?
It's nice to hear that more people are coming to help.
About the Main Page:
I helped a bit by restarting the poll, just to keep it fresh.
I also changed the "Listen" featured song, again, to keep it fresh.
I helped you out by replacing the now removed videos. I found that The Grammy's Official YouTube Channel uploaded the Daft Punk wins Album of the Year video. I added the 'Starboy' music video as the top featured one.
So, to edit the templates are pretty easy peasy. Here are the links to each subsection:
I'm looking forward to be semi-active in the wiki, I am not able to work all-day as I used to; I will try to work on template designs, housekeeping (dead-end links, broken redirects, format issues, creating articles and new templates to make the user experience better). Sometimes I work behind the scenes, you might like to check my Testing pages to see what am I working on.
To edit the poll
From the Main Page, click on Edit, locate the poll code, will be below the Main page/Help template code. The poll code will look like this:
Which new The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk song you liked the most?
I Feel It Coming
Neither of 'em
Use the first line to input the question, and the following lines to add the options. For more info please refer to Help:Poll.
By the well, feel free to edit the poll, the recent edit was made just for a quick vamp. :)
Enjoy your time here, and leave me a message if you need any help!
