A ticket entry for the event.

The 1997 Mayan Theater live performance was held in Los Angeles, California, in the United States on December 17, 1997 as part of the Daftendirektour by Daft Punk.[1][2] A small video snippet of the performance was released in the 2000 DVD D.A.F.T.: A Story About Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes, which featured "Rollin' & Scratchin'". A year later, the band would release the 45-minute live album Alive 1997, which is sometimes confused as an audio performance of the Mayan Theater show. However, Alive 1997 contains a recorded portion of their Que Club performance in Birmingham, England. Both feature almost the same setlist.

2022 Video Perfomance Release[]

The full 1-hour and 27 minutes performance videotape was live-streamed on 22 February 2022 (a full year of the band separation), on their newly created Twitch channel. It marks the first time a complete video recorded live performance by the duo was officially released. However, though multiple copies exist on the internet of the stream, there is no official way to rewatch the video, likely due to copyright and licensing issues of other artists' songs used on the setlist.

After the live stream ended, Daft Punk announced the release of the 25th Anniversary Edition of Homework, first released digitally, and the repressing of the vinyl was also made available for pre-order. Homework: Remixes was also digitally released as a separate album (tracks also included in the anniversary edition), with the physical release set for 25 November 2022.

At the end of the performance, bandmember Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo finished the presentation by saying "Merci, beacoup [...], merci bonsoir" (in English: "Thank you, very much [...] thank you, good night".
